What is Crisis Receiving & Stabilization?
An emotional health or substance use crisis can feel frightening and overwhelming for both individuals and families.
Crisis Receiving & Stabilization services provide immediate assessment, support, and treatment for people experiencing:
Suicidal thoughts or concerns about safety
Severe anxiety, depression, or emotional distress
Mental health symptoms that are worsening
Substance use-related crises
Co-occurring mental health and substance use concerns
Situations where someone needs urgent support to remain safe and stable
Our goal is to help individuals regain stability, understand what support they need, and begin the next steps toward recovery.
What Happens When You Arrive?
When someone is experiencing a crisis, uncertainty can add to the stress. It matters to us that you know what to expect when you or someone you love comes to Bowen Health for help. Our team is here to listen, provide immediate support, and guide you through each step of the process. We work with individuals and families to address urgent needs, restore stability, and develop a plan for continued care, because recovery is supported through ongoing relationships, services, and community connections.
When you arrive, here's what you can expect:
-
A trained behavioral health professional will meet with you to understand what is happening, evaluate immediate needs, and determine the safest level of care.
-
Our team works to reduce distress, improve safety, and address urgent mental health or substance use concerns.
Depending on individual needs, stabilization may include:

-
Not everyone who enters crisis services needs hospitalization.

Inpatient psychiatric hospitalization when clinically necessary
Connected Care Beyond the Crisis.
Crisis Care Is Only the Beginning
At Bowen Health, we believe recovery happens through ongoing support, not one-time interventions.
Bowen Health provides integrated behavioral health, physical health, substance use treatment, recovery services, and care coordination, and our team partners with each person to create a plan that supports long-term health, recovery, and resilience.
For Families & Loved Ones
When someone you care about is in crisis, it can be difficult to know what to do.
Our team partners with individuals and families to provide guidance, support, and information so they understand available options and connect their loved one with appropriate care.
If you are concerned about someone's safety or well-being, contact our Crisis Services team for assistance.
