CRISIS RECEIVING & STABILIZATION
A crisis can happen in a moment. Healing happens through connection, support, and partnership.
We are your partner in recovery, helping you move from crisis toward stability, wellness, and hope.
When a mental health crisis, substance use crisis, or emotional emergency becomes overwhelming, Bowen Health's Inpatient Psychiatric Hospital provides immediate, compassionate care in a safe and healing environment. Located in Pierceton, Indiana, our 16-bed psychiatric hospital is designed to help individuals 18 years and older stabilize during times of acute need while connecting them to ongoing support for long-term wellness.
At Bowen Health, we understand that recovery is not a single event. It is a journey. Our approach is rooted in the Chronic Care Model, which means we focus not only on crisis stabilization, but on helping individuals build the clinical, community, and personal supports needed for lasting recovery and improved quality of life.

Admission Process
Getting help should be simple.
Individuals may be admitted through:
A crisis assessment completed by Bowen Health clinicians
Referrals from emergency departments, healthcare providers, schools, or community partners
Coordination with crisis response services
Direct connection through Bowen Health's Crisis Services team
Note: Admission begins with a clinical evaluation to determine whether inpatient care is the right level of care. Individuals who choose to admit voluntarily will complete our voluntary admission packet, located on the For Patients page.
Recovery Doesn't End at Discharge
Recovery Doesn't End at Discharge
Patients remain in the hospital only as long as clinically necessary to achieve stabilization. We often find that 3 to 5 days are sufficient to meet that need. Before discharge, our team works closely with patients and families to ensure continuity of care and a smooth transition to the next phase of treatment.
Because Bowen Health offers integrated behavioral health, physical health, recovery services, and care coordination, patients can continue receiving support from psychiatrists, therapists, primary care providers, case managers, peer supports, and other specialists based on their individual needs.
This connected approach helps reduce barriers to care, improve long-term outcomes, and support recovery beyond the crisis.
